Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) provides quality water and wastewater services to 54 towns in North Central Victoria. Our core purpose is to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable water services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.From growth comes opportunity and an increase in local development activity has resulted in this newly created position to support regional growth.Working closely with the Manager – Land Development you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the planning referrals function for GVW to support the creation and servicing of approximately 1,000 new lots per year.A key element of this role will be your ability to support team members by providing ongoing development, performance management and guidance to perform their roles.You might have qualifications in Planning, Engineering or Leadership or can demonstrate experience in the water or similar industry with particular emphasis on regional development, land use planning and infrastructure assets relating to land development.If you are a motivated professional with a passion for developing others we are keen to hear how your experience will benefit this role.About your new role…You will not only process referrals but work closely with the Manager to provide support to team members, review and improve processes and collaborate across functions with GVW to ensure quality information is provided.Known for your leadership and team management skills, you have an ability to motivate and empower team members to achieve goals and deliver results.An ability to work collaboratively and establish relationships allows you to work effectively with local Councils and the Land Development industry to support regional growth.Based at the Shepparton Operations Centre where you will enjoy being part of a working environment amongst technical and operational staff with the bonus of hassle-free parking! To be considered for this role you must have demonstrated some of the following:

  • Certificate 4 or above in Planning, Engineering or Leadership and/or minimum 5 years relevant experience in planning or land development within the Water or similar industry.
  • Diploma or above in Planning, Engineering or Business (preferred)
  • Previous relevant experience in the water or similar industry with particular emphasis on regional development, land use planning and infrastructure assets relating to land development.
  • Knowledge of Developer Works and Planning Referral processes
  • Previous experience leading a small team including mentoring and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and presentation skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong OHS commitment and focus.
  • Committed to contributing positively to your team and the organisation.
  • A current driver’s licence.
  • COVID-19 Vaccinated or Exemption

  • Classification GVW3: $75,536 – $92,155 + superannuation (starting salary point is negotiable dependent upon relevant, qualifications, skills, and experience demonstrated)
