Seeking Senior Staff Specialists or Staff Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) to ensure the ongoing provision of first class Obstetrics and Gynaecology services across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
The provision of Obstetrics and Gynaecology services for CQ Health is provided as one service, multiple sites. In order to meet service needs the Specialist will be required to provide clinical services at any facility within the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, in line with the clinical services capability of the that facility.

Access theThis position attracts a Queensland Health Attraction Incentive of up to $20,000 / $70,000 – find out if you qualify here:About us:Provide quality Obstetrics and Gynaecology services as required across CQHHS region, incorporating Rockhampton, Gladstone, Emerald, Biloela, Moura and Capricorn Coast Hospitals, Community Clinics and Woorabinda, Theodore, Baralaba, Mount Morgan, Springsure and Blackwater Multipurpose Health Services.About the role:The position of Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist is to assist the Clinical Directors in:

  • Ensuring that Specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology services provided by CQHHS are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources.
  • The education and supervision of trainees, junior medical staff, medical students, Midwives, and other Health Practitioners including Nursing staff.
  • The day-to-day management of Obstetrics and Gynaecology services including active participation in patient safety, clinical audit, investigation and management of adverse clinical incidents and complaints, research, and service planning activities.

About you:You will need:

  • MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). In general, this will require Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG).
  • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program of appropriate College.
  • The appointee will be required to undergo a credentialing process and will be granted appropriate scope of clinical practice. There is a system of review and renewal of credentials and Scope of Clinical Practice for Specialists and Non-specialist Senior Medical Officers on staff. Your qualifications and certified skills and competencies determine the scope of clinical practice you will be granted and subsequently your position title and salary status.

What we offer:Salary information:Total remuneration value of up to $528,432 p.a. (L27) is comprised of:

  • Salary between $210,332 to $266,677 p.a. (L18 – L27)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

Other benefits include:

  • Professional Development Leave (3.6 weeks p.a.) and Allowance ($21,000 p.a.)
  • Motor Vehicle Allowance
  • Over-time and on-call allowances
  • Attraction and Retention Incentive Allowance (Granted Private Practice arrangements)
  • Gladstone Hospital: Inaccessibility Incentive Allowance of $6,900 p.a. (100% paid after twelve months completion period. 25% paid in three monthly instalments thereafter.)
  • Pro rata for part time positions.
