Iress is one of Australia’s largest technology companies and employs more than 2,000 people across Australia, The United Kingdom, Africa, Canada, France, New Zealand and Asia.Build your career at Iress!The Senior Financial Accountant will be a key member of the Group Finance team, with a broad range of responsibilities including advising on the interpretation and application of financial accounting standards and practice to the Iress Group, contributing to the delivery of monthly, half-yearly and year-end financial reporting, and supporting the completion of Group and subsidiary financial statement reviews and audits.Some of the awesome things you’ll be involved with:Analyse and interpret the application of Australian financial reporting standards relevant to an ASX-listed multinational groupAdvise Iress management and finance personnel on financial accounting issues and treatments, including the development and maintenance of accounting models and processes and preparation of accounting position papersSupport the Head of Statutory Reporting in preparing periodic statutory reporting for the Group and subsidiaries including preparation of financial statements and note disclosures, supporting analysis and documentationDocument and support adopted technical accounting positions and disclosures for the purpose of the Group’s financial audits and reviewsProvide technical accounting advice relating to business initiatives, mergers, acquisitions and divestments and significant transactionsKeep up to date on changes and developments in accounting standards, guidelines and other reporting requirements relevant to the GroupSupport the Group monthly financial accounting processes including financial analysis, journals, accruals, consolidation and balance sheet reconciliationsContribute to periodic statutory reporting for the Group and subsidiaries including preparation of financial statements and notes, supporting analysis and documentation and accounting position papersFacilitate completion of the Group’s financial audits and reviews including managing and assisting with audit queries and documentationImplement and maintain financial processes and controlsChampion Finance team process and system improvement strategies, projects and initiativesLiaise with the Group’s external auditors to support technical accounting positions and disclosures adopted in the financial statementsContribute to Iress’ responses to audit queries and the resolution of audit matters as they ariseSupport the maintenance and continuous improvement of finance processes and controls subject to internal and external auditWhat you will bring:Relevant tertiary degree (e.g. Bachelor of Commerce/Economics, etc.)Professional qualification (e.g. CA, CPA, etc.)3 years+ of financial accounting experience with professional services or in-house corporate (experience in multinational and/ or ASX-listed environments preferred)Strong knowledge of Australian financial accounting standards and practiceExperience in maintaining and implementing accounting policies and proceduresStrong organisational skills with ability to manage a broad range of responsibilities and stakeholdersWhy work with us?8 additional paid days per year to extend your weekendsHybrid workingGenerous cash bonus for every successful referralStarting school leave – 8.5 days of leave to assist your children with the transition to schoolUp to 26 weeks’ paid parental leave for primary carers (up to 4 weeks for secondary carers), and the ability to work part-time when returning to work3 days’ paid leave per year to participate in charity initiativesDiscounted health insurance premiumsAccess to learning and development programs through UdemyIress is committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive culture.
