About KAMSKimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS) is a well-established regional Aboriginal community-controlled health service, founded in 1986, which provides centralised advocacy and resource support for 6 independent member services, as well as providing direct clinical services in a further 5 remote Aboriginal communities across the region and being the lead agency for headspace Broome, WA since 2008.KAMS has successfully delivered high-quality, accessible comprehensive primary health care services over its 34 years of operation and has provided innovation and national leadership in areas such as health information management and evidence-based best practice in Aboriginal Health.For more information, please visit our website:The OpportunityAs our next Quality Coordinator working full-time in Broome, Western Australia, you’ll be responsible for managing and implementing a quality management system across all departments of KAMS and Kimberley Renal Services (KRS) in line with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.This role requires you to work closely with management to foster a quality culture, plan and manage quality initiatives to improve organisational processes and meet accreditation and licensing standards.The key responsibilities of the Quality Coordinator include:
- Managing the Quality Management System (QMS) to conform to ISO 9001:2015, internal, legislative, and customer requirements
- Providing reports and advice to the Executive Management Team on the performance of the QMS
- Manage and implement an ongoing quality improvement framework for the KAMS and KRS
- Leading and supporting managers on strategies to foster an organisational culture prioritising quality management and process improvement
- Communicating and engaging with managers and key staff to optimise quality management within their departments
- Planning and managing organisational quality initiatives
- Managing the QMS software (LogiQC) and overseeing the Compliance Officer (Quality)
- Coordinating and collaborating to meet accreditation and licensing requirements, including ISO, National Safety and Quality Health Standards, and RACGP Standards
- Planning and managing ongoing support and education of the QMS
Why You’ll Be Great in this RoleTo qualify, you will need relevant experience coordinating and/or managing a QMS and at least three years’ experience in a similar role.Experience in coordinating or participating in quality improvement initiatives will also be essential.Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Previous experience working in health care or the Aboriginal Community Controlled sector
- Working knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards and/or experience with other Standards or Legislative requirements
- Internal Auditor qualifications and/or experience conducting audits
- Demonstrated knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and Occupational Safety and Health legislation

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret, document, and communicate performance data and information

Lastly, you must be willing and able to travel around the Kimberley region, making a valid driver’s licence a requirement.This is a critical role in managing the quality framework of KAMS and KRS. We are looking for a candidate who can lead and support a culture of continuous improvement, communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation to maintain high quality standards and meet accreditation.Please note: Successful candidates must obtain a cleared Police Check Certificate and a Working with Children Check before commencing employment and must have full-time, unlimited work rights in Australia.Be RewardedThe successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of $100,966 p.a + superannuation and additional allowances including:
