We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager (Local Government Capital Works) for our client, a Local Council based in Sydney. This is an initial contract until April 2025 with a pay rate of $74-95 per hour + super for 38-40 hours per week.Please note that experience of Local Government capital works projects is a requirement for this role.Key Requirements:

  • Be a part of a successful and well established project delivery team.
  • Manage the delivery of a wide range of civil, Open Space and Building infrastructure projects across the LGA.
  • Degree level qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent Project Management.
  • Extensive experience in the planning, scheduling and delivery of multi facet projects including but not limited to; infrastructure, public domain, building and landscape assets. with high public/political visibility.
  • Proven ability to resolve project and contract management related issues.
  • Excellent knowledge of legislation, regulations, design standards and codes of practice related to the construction, safety and management of infrastructure, public domain, building and landscape assets.
  • Highly developed written communication skills including the ability to develop and/or oversee the preparation of tender and contract documentation, complex briefings, technical reports and resident consultation/notification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to negotiate project delivery outcomes with internal and external stakeholders

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years Project Management experience
  • Previous experience of Local Government projects (client-side)
  • Previous experience of open space, public domain, building and landscape Capital Works projects
  • Degree level qualification in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or similar
