The Security Management team of Information Technology Services is responsible for delivering high quality information security outcomes for the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.

You will manage the security components of the Department’s information technology infrastructure and services to ensure clients have secure, high-quality access to their information.

This role requires you to work with limited supervision in a specialist team and requires you to liaise with and build productive relationships with stakeholders across the branch.

Key responsibilities for the role:

  • Analyse issues for security and co-ordinate investigations relating to security compliance.
  • Co-ordinate information security standards implemented within the Department to comply with the Queensland Government’s Information Architecture Standard on Information Security.
  • Ensure Departmental interfaces with external agencies comply with security policy and standards and are in line with industry best practice.
  • Ensure compliance to the Information Security Policy and Standards of the Department.
  • Co-ordinate the implementation and monitoring of security measures ensuring that the Department’s information resources, data and network are secure, recoverable and uncorrupted.

Other duties

  • Provide input into the Department’s ICT Policy and Standards from and information security perspective.
  • Monitor new projects to ensure that security issues and impacts are considered.
  • Co-ordinate, monitor and review Departmental procedures to ensure security of information management and provide advice on remedial options to ensure effective procedures in relation to information security.
  • Performs other essential duties and tasks specific to the position as would be reasonably required.
