As Planning Manager in the Transport Planning Prioritisation & Integration unit you will lead the development of the Transport System Planning Program (TSPP) Investment Program, a key component of Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP). In addition, you will lead and/or support the delivery of transport planning projects and programs across the state, including the development of intergovernmental programs and partnerships, such as City Deals.

Access theSome of your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the annual development of the forward planning program (TSPP Formulation) in collaboration with TMR Delivery Areas and other TMR Investment Programs, including the development of a prioritised program relative to funding levels.
  • Implement and maintain program management principles of the TSPP, including facilitating the development and review of the Program Blue Print, development and implementation of the program’s governance and prioritisation framework.
  • Lead and/or contribute to strategic transport projects and programs across the state, ensuring that all planning is undertaken in a multi-modal, integrated, affordable and value for money context.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, to align planning, investment and governance for the development of intergovernmental programs and partnerships.
  • Represent the department at meetings, forums and relevant working groups on strategic transport planning issues.
  • Prepare complex ministerial correspondence, program reports, presentations, briefing notes, submissions and other general correspondence.
  • Contribute to the positive working environment of the division, including participating in ongoing business improvement processes and mentoring staff members to develop and promote best practices, continuous improvement, knowledge-sharing and positive team culture.
  • Lead and manage a team, actively participating in performance conversations to build and support the professional development of staff.

Requirements of the role:

  • Leadership experience on the successful delivery of large and complex transport system investment programs
  • Experience in program management and governance processes
  • Understanding of transport infrastructure strategies and plans and delivery of transport planning projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, collaborating across multiple business areas and with external agencies
  • Experience leading high performing multi-disciplinary teams, driving a culture that values diversity and embraces change
