This is a full-time fixed term contract role (through to June 2025), working within a hybrid environment, with flexibility to work from either our Sydney, Canberra or Melbourne offices.

Working collaboratively with Sport Wellbeing and Engagement, this role will support the delivery of the ASC’s high performance sport Wellbeing and Engagement program of work by identifying system wide solutions and opportunities to enhance the wellbeing servicing of para-athletes throughout their high-performance pathway. The role will also support the implementation of work under the 2023+ High Performance System Strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assess the current capability and capacity of wellbeing and engagement providers servicing para-athletes within the high-performance pathway.
- Lead the development and implementation of a para specific education and development program for wellbeing and engagement practitioners across the HP system that is integrated into the Wellbeing and Engagement Network Development Strategy.
- Provide system wide advice and guidance on the bespoke wellbeing requirements of para-athletes.
- Work across the Sport Wellbeing and Engagement Branch to identify opportunities to develop and deliver bespoke para-athlete programs.
The successful applicant will be compassionate, adaptable, and a strategic thinker and collaborator, who holds extensive contemporary knowledge of para sport, social welfare issues impacting para-athletes, and the high-performance pathways for para-athletes within the Australian high-performance system. Demonstrated experience in successfully designing, implementing and evaluating professional development programs to increase technical knowledge and capability is desirable.
In addition to the skills, capability, knowledge and experience set out in the PD, experience as a former para-athlete within the Australian HP Sport System would be an advantage and is desirable.
