Mechanical Technician Gas Processing

The purpose of this role is to ensure the successful application of the asset management strategies for nominated Gas Processing equipment and the execution of maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner.
You will need to understand equipment condition, comply with relevant standards and requirements with specific emphasis on maximizing departmental plant performance, service delivery and achieving operation specifications. You will also identify and implement improvement opportunities.
To be a successful Candidate for this role it is preferred you have:
- Relevant Trade qualifications – Essential
- Engineering Associate Diploma in relevant discipline (desirable).
- C class NSW drivers Licence
- Strong equipment and technical skills (including equipment strategy and maintenance) via trade or engineering background.
- Maintenance management understanding.
- Co-ordinate and direct work execution.
- Good communication skills across a variety of roles.
- Previous experience in maintenance of equipment in process service provision.
Primary Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Conduct regular inspections of plant and equipment to identify any faults or impending problems.
- Improve equipment reliability through expert technical knowledge of the plant and its condition.
- Scope up corrective and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Monitor condition of nominated plant to provide input to planned maintenance activities.
- Provide relief cover for the relevant Coordinator position for the area.Supervise maintenance to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- Ensure key spares and components are fit for purpose and available.
- Assist in the development of maintenance plans to deliver agreed maintenance strategy.
- Provide input for maintenance strategy development and review.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to Core Team, apprentices and Operational personnel.

For more than 20 years, Ventia has had a longstanding relationship with BlueScope in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, providing plant maintenance, engineering and project services and a skilled workforce for numerous BlueScope projects, as well as fabrication facilities. We have recently renewed our contract with BlueScope for maintenance services with the addition of Fire Services at BlueScope’s Port Kembla Steel Works.
