Your team is dynamic and require an inspirational leader who will support them, guide them and provide sound and fair leadership.FASS provides independent, objective analysis to law enforcement bodies including the police, local coroners and public prosecutors in areas such as forensic medicine, forensic biology and DNA, forensic toxicology, drug toxicology, illicit drugs, and more. It also provides analytical testing for NSW Health and local government bodies and supports public health needs.FASS is a great place to work. You will be supported in your management development, work with managers who are committed and dedicated to their roles across a multi-disciplinary service. What you’ll be doingResponsible for the management and co-ordination of the daily operations and activities within the Forensic Medicine mortuary, including leading a team of staff, to provide a timely and respectful service for the deceased, families and the wider community.Interested in joining Australia’s largest public pathology service? Apply now by addressing the following questions: * Relevant Tertiary Qualification and/or extensive experience performing forensic post mortems and any associated duties in a forensic mortuary.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a forensic mortuary demonstrating a high level of autonomy.
- Ability to successfully lead a team, with commitment to the professional development and mentorship of staff, and supporting a workforce culture that is resilient and capable of supporting change.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise with multidisciplinary teams and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current quality management systems and NATA Forensic Accreditation requirements within a forensic mortuary.
- Proven ability to work with the deceased in an environment that could be distressing, ensuring to raise any associated concerns and/or need for support, adopting self-care strategies and promoting same for staff.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call roster, and travel in accordance with the demands of the role holding a current NSW driver’s license.
- Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.
