Engineering Assistant – Traffic

The Engineering Division provides roads, footpath and cycleway, stormwater, flood mitigation, water supply and wastewater services to the Tweed community and is responsible for the planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance of the associated infrastructure.About the role:

  • provide technical assistance to the Engineers in the unit in the management of the annual delivery programs for road assets including traffic facilities, footpaths, cycleways, streetlights and bus shelters
  • provide tasks and advice to outdoor staff and contractors as required
  • engage with the community on projects and resolve road and traffic-related problems
  • prepare budgets, applications for grants and oversees Section 138 Roads applications

  • relevant trade certificate and technical experience in this field
  • high level of independence in decision-making and negotiating skills
  • well-developed writing skills to make applications for grant funding and prepare reports
