With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hour’s drive from the CBD, Melbourne’s North is fast becoming the place to be!The Role:Occupational Therapist – Grade 2 – CommunityFixed term full time position working 80 hours per fortnight (Maternity Leave Backfill) until 03/01/2025We have an opportunity for passionate Grade 2 Occupational Therapists within the Community Therapy team at Northern Health. The Grade 2 roles provides Occupational Therapy services to patients/participants within the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Home and Community Care (HACC). These services provide support and maintenance to people living at home and whose capacity for independent living is at risk, or who are at risk of premature or inappropriate admission to long-term residential care. The CHSP service specifically provides home and community services for people aged 65 and over. The role also provides service to our Progressive Neurological Disease Clinic including people with Motor Neurone Disease.The Occupational Therapy service at Northern Health prides itself on being inclusive, supportive and committed to evidence-based practice. We are a team driven by positive patient outcomes and team work. The NH OT service employs over 100 staff and are consistently striving to provide opportunities to support staff growth and development.The Northern Health Occupational Therapy department is committed to high levels of patient centred care, evidence based practice, regular supervision and support of all staff.To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience and good working knowledge of clients living within the community
- Proven ability to work well in a team
- Interest in working with over 65-year old’s
