About the team
This role sits within Urban Planning under the broader Planning and Building Services team. Urban Planning comprises of 26 officers with five Coordinators. We are a passionate and customer focused group who work collaboratively with our internal and external customers.About the role
In this role, you will provide professional subdivision services to the Council, land surveyors, developers, and the public, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. The role involves providing high level administrative and customer service support for enquiries relating to zoning, subdivision and development/use of land.You will have the opportunity to develop your planning skills while collaborating with a supportive team.Other responsibilities include:

  • Provide information and assistance to members of the public and developers to facilitate and ensure compliance with relevant planning provisions and Council policies.
  • Assess applications for subdivision and certification under the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and Subdivision Act 1988.
  • Develop and maintain effective external networks, liaising with external referral authorities to exchange information.
  • Assess and make recommendations on applications for VicSmart and minor planning applications under the Glen Eira Planning Scheme

About you
The ideal candidate will have experience in processing subdivision related applications within the public or private sector. You will be a true team player with excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.The following is also required:

  • Demonstrated experience in processing subdivision related application in the public or private sector.
  • Experience in a similar role in local government planning with exposure to like issues, i.e. subdivision, multi-dwelling, industry, and commercial development.
