Together we can harness potential to create a prosperous future.The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Cyber Security Engineer has arisen. In this critical role, you will safeguard our digital assets, collaborate with our Security Operations Centre (SOC), and empower our team through education on cyber secure practices.Reporting to the Manager Cyber Security, Risk & Compliance, you will also get the chance to support cyber security related GRC activities.Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Design, plan, and implement WesCEF’s cyber security infrastructure in alignment with our approved strategy.
- Stay ahead with the latest technology security trends through proactive research.
- Identify, report, and mitigate emerging threats, providing insightful analytics and recommendations across our business.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for cyber security projects and business initiatives.
- Enhance WesCEF’s cybersecurity maturity by identifying cyber security risks and driving continuous improvement in our processes.
With stakeholders located at both our Murdoch and Kwinana locations you will need to be able to travel between both locations as required.Please note that our Murdoch office will be relocating to Perth CBD in late 2025.About YouThe ideal candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in an IT related discipline, or significant IT experience with production systems and business applications.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to influence and educate a diverse workforce, including ability to work across both operational and project teams.
- Demonstrable experience in cyber security infrastructure.
- Demonstrable experience in network, systems, cloud security and communication systems administration.
- Experience of NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001/2, cyber security risk management, threat and vulnerability management.
- Highly developed analytical and proven problem solving ability.
Desirable knowledge and skills include:
- Industry relevant certification(s) such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, SANS or related cyber security certification.
- OT cyber security experience including working with standards and frameworks such as IEC62443 and NIST SP 800-82.
- Delivery of cyber security solutions in green and brownfield environments.
