The School of Psychological Sciences is seeking a suitably qualified academic to be actively involved in the development, implementation, and delivery of units in the Undergraduate suite of courses within the School, including the Bachelor of Cognitive and Brain Sciences and accredited Undergraduate and Postgraduate Psychology degrees, as well as engaging in research.About You
You will have a tertiary qualifications in psychological sciences, and the capacity to design, deliver units and courses at the undergraduate level. You will also have a strong track record in research relative to experience. Additionally, you will possess a willingness to embrace educational technology, blended learning and educational innovation.About Us

To be considered for this position, please apply online by submitting your CV and a separate (3-page maximum) cover letter that details how you meet each of the following selection criteria:Essential criteria for Level B (Lecturer) & Level C (Senior Lecturer):

  • A PhD or equivalent tertiary qualifications in Psychology.
  • Exceptional teaching skills and demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality learning and teaching, including the design, delivery, and management of online and face-to-face content, lectures, tutorials, and assessments, with demonstrated evidence of excellent student outcomes and reflective practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching in units in cognitive science topics such as psycholinguistics, neuroscience, attention, neuroimaging, disorders of the brain.
  • Demonstrated experience also in teaching in psychology units in accredited psychology courses in Australia.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to relate to build an inclusive teaching and learning environment, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Evidence of successful delivery to diverse student cohorts and of creating a positive student experience characterised by strong engagement at the undergraduate levels.
  • Demonstrated strong track record in research, relative to opportunity, including research grants and peer reviewed publications.
  • Research track record that is compatible with the research strengths of staff within the School of Psychological Sciences at Macquarie University.

Additional Essential for Level C (Senior Lecturer):

  • Experience and capacity to successfully supervise Honours, Masters and PhD research students in psychological sciences.
  • Ability to proactively engage or partner with industry and professional bodies on relevant research and / or teaching projects and to represent the School to external stakeholders and the general public
  • Demonstrated experience to make a contribution to the academic life and administrative tasks of the School and Faculty along with a track record of effective teamwork.
  • Outstanding learning and teaching experience with demonstrated experience of involvement in course/curriculum development.
