Suncorp Group are looking for a Technical Officer – Consumer Policy Operations to join our team on a 12-month Secondment.The purpose of this role is to provide technical assistance to the Consumer Policy Operations Team, Support the Leader in the daily management and execution of the team’s functions, as well as drive positive and favourable people, customer, performance and risk outcomes that contribute to the overall success of Policy Operations. This role is also accountable for coaching and mentoring the team members to ensure sound decision making and to assist the development of legislative and regulatory knowledge and skills. You will be required to maintain a constant customer focus by working with customers, team members and stakeholders to find solutions consistent with their needs and the business objectives.The Technical Officer is responsible for ensuring quality service is provided to customers. This is achieved by maintaining and updating procedures, training, and coaching staff, developing and maintaining continuous improvement mechanisms and the administration of quality frameworks. A key function of the role is to maintain the intellectual property and technical capability of the team to required standards.Your Responsibilities:
- Technical Specialization – Subject matter expert for team and main point of contact for technical questions relating to policy, product knowledge, systems, processes and procedures for Commercial Policy Operations
- Technical Leadership – Actively share knowledge, advice and coach others to build and develop technical capability to create a “high performing team” environment
- Coaching and Mentoring – Provide side by side technical coaching and mentoring to team members to help share knowledge, ensure sound decision making, build technical capabilities and improve performance.
- Team Performance – Work with Leader to review outcomes and identify trends to ensure performance is improved.
- Continuous Improvement – Ongoing professional development.
- Team Work – Share knowledge and expertise to develop others.
- Customer Experience – Provide excellent customer service to insurers and regulatory authorities

- Computer skills – proficient keyboard skills and knowledge in Microsoft applications.
