Senior Technical Cyber Security Specialist – IT/OT Contract

Hudson is collaborating with a client in the critical infrastructure sector, seeking a seasoned Senior Technical Cyber Security Specialist to aid in the delivery of a security capability improvement projects.ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assist in the discovery, design, documentation, delivery, and operationalization of multiple cyber security capability initiatives across Corporate and Operational Technology environments, including but not limited to:
  • Controls aligned with the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s Essential Eight.
  • Implementation of a network and asset monitoring/vulnerability management solution (OT).
  • Implementation of role-based access control and privileged access management solutions.
  • Implementation of logging ingestion into the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system.
  • Liaise with third-party service providers throughout project delivery.
  • Assess and evaluate the adequacy of existing cyber security controls for information and technology systems and make recommendations for improvement.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience managing operating systems (Windows and Linux), and common services, e.g., web proxies, file servers, domain controllers, etc.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and managing virtual infrastructure environments e.g., VMware.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and managing backup solutions, particularly at sites with limited bandwidth e.g., Veeam.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and managing vulnerability management solutions in an OT environment.
  • Experience with logging and integration with Azure Sentinel.
  • Experience deploying and managing Microsoft 365 security solutions, including Defender for Endpoint and Config Manager.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and managing multi-factor authentication solutions, Group Policy and Intune configuration.
  • Experience with firewall and network security technologies.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering cyber security capability improvement initiatives in line with recommended frameworks.
  • Demonstrated cyber security networking experience, including configuration of access control lists, firewall rulesets, and proxy services.
  • Demonstrated experience with role-based authorization methodologies, authentication technologies, and security attack methodologies.
  • Detailed understanding of Azure and network security technologies.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or degree pertinent to cyber security, industry certifications, or equivalent experience.
