The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Medical Officer Agreement 2009Department Name: Lung Transplant UnitPosition Summary:The lung transplant team at St Vincent’s Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a 1 year clinical research fellowship. The position would suit a clinician interested in starting a PhD in the field of lung transplantation. Potential applications should have a medical background, experience working in lung transplantation and have completed at least 2 years of advanced training in respiratory medicine. The duties and responsibilities of the position will include design and implementation of a lung transplant focused clinical research project. Clinical assessment and management of post lung transplant patients. Review of lung transplant patients enrolled in clinical trials.The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.This position requires a Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Office of the Children’s Guardian. 1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
2. Completed or undertaking final year of Respiratory/Thoracic Medicine Advanced Training program with Royal Australasian College of Physicians3. Prior clinical experience in a lung transplant unit is essential.4.Plan to commence PhD in lung transplantation5. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.6.Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team.7.Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills.8.
