The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.Our Nepean Cancer Care Centre is seeking to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist who is keen to take a Part time assignment. This role will assist in Occupational Therapy cover of the Oncology and palliative care caseload during Mondays and Tuesdays as part of the larger Allied Health team within Cancer Services. The position will ensure the provision of high quality occupational therapy service to to cancer services clients and carers in order to achieve optimal health outcomes. Willingness to use for work purposes and may include driving long distances across the LHD.
- Demonstrated high level skills in verbal and non-verbal communication with consumers, teams and other stakeholders, including excellence in negotiation, decision making, advocacy and collaborative consultation. Demonstrated experience in documentation and formal reporting.
- Demonstrated well developed clinical knowledge and problem solving skills in an acute hospital or ambulatory setting within a multidisciplinary team, with ability to provide clinical services to client groups of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills.
- Demonstrated experience and skill in staff and student supervision
- Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical / administrative demands.
- Demonstrated ability to advise, lead and participate in service development, change management and quality improvement initiatives within the OT environment and more broadly across a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of relevant evidence based practice resources to guide decision making and commitment to ongoing education /professional development.
