We are committed to providing compassionate and innovative care, enabling hope for those we serve.We are actively sourcing a passionate and experienced National Health Information Services Manager to lead and manage the Health Information Services (HIS) departments in the Private Division of SVHA (8 hospitals nationally). The position has a strategic focus on the future direction of Health Information Services but also a strong operational aspect with each of the five hospital HIS Managers reporting through to this position.The National HIS Manager reports into the Director, Health Funding and Negotiations and will be a key member of the Group Health Fund Team (GHFT). This is an exciting time to be joining the GHFT as we embark on a number of significant projects that will be challenging, rewarding and ultimately make a difference to HIS and the Private Division more broadly.This role will give you the opportunities to grow, develop and work with a variety of stakeholders across the Private Division, and at a national level. The successful applicant will be Full Time, with the option to be located in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane and access our flexible work from home practices.Key responsibilities of the role:Lead the strategic and operational planning of the Health Information Services for the Private Division of SVHAMaintain a high-level knowledge and understanding of developments in health information management to enable the provision of expert advice to direct reports, Senior Management and cliniciansProvide advice on legislation, regulations and other guidelines which impact on the operation and functions of patient data collection and reportingEstablish standardised policies, procedures and processes across the HIS departments in the Private Division that are contemporary and support high quality coding and scanningLead initiatives to improve clinical & other documentation to enhance the quality and value of coding information for revenue optimisation and reporting on patient care and outcomesDevelop and implement an internal audit plan for ongoing assessment of coding and data qualityPlay a lead role in the implementation of a centralised coding service for the Private Division and its ongoing managementDrive the Private Division health information services workforce strategy including short and long term goalsThings that work for us:A passion for your profession, coding and the value contemporary HIS departments can add to a Private Hospital group.Previous experience in a similar roleBachelor of Health Information Management desiredEligible for membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) desiredStrong people management skills and experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including at executive levelDemonstrated ability to lead, motivate and cultivate a culture of excellence and success with Health Information Services Managers and teams (State, Regional or National) in a private hospital environmentStrong understanding of health fund contracts and funding models and their linkages to coding / billing / revenue optimisation and auditingDemonstrated experience of being involved in complex business projects focused on introducing process and systems changes requiring change management expertiseAbility to travel interstate as neededCurrent 2024 Flu Vaccine (or willingness to receive) and a minimum of two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations – mandatoryThings that work for you:Ability to visibly see your impact on the business and its serviceOpportunity to be part of a dynamic leadership teamCompetitive salary packaging optionsDiscounted private health insuranceEmployee Assistance Program for staff and their familiesAccess to the Fitness Passport (FP)Why become part of St Vincent’s Health Australia?
